Dr.
Osborne: After the data that we had with the two big randomized
trials against Arimidex, which, itself, looks as good or better
than tamoxifen, and other aromatase inhibitors look as good or better
than tamoxifen, and with the results of the tamoxifen metastatic
randomized trial that should be coming out next summer, that will,
of course, be important. But I think there is reason enough to hypothesize
that it could be a better anti-tumor agent.
Dr.
Love: What about combinations of Faslodex and other endocrine interventions?
Any that sort of intuitively make sense?
Dr.
Osborne: Well, I think a lot of them might. I think particularly
intriguing would be an aromatase inhibitor plus Faslodex. There,
youre doing two things. Youre getting rid of a ligand,
estradiol, or at least youre reducing it down to a very low
level, and youre depleting the receptor. So, that might theoretically
be a better way of treating patients. So, that would be an interesting
combination.
