Commentary
More than two-thirds of the surgeons believe that SLNB is now
the standard of care, although both the American College of Surgeons
and the NSABP have current clinical trials addressing this question.
However, there is considerable controversy about the role of SLNB
in several groups of patients, including patients who have undergone
neoadjuvant therapy and those with more than one lesion in the same
breast.
